Colourpop appreciation post

Greetings 😀

When it comes to eyeshadows I like them to be pigmented, easy to blend, colourful and affordable.
Well Colourpop has gone and done it AGAIN!
Not only are they one of my favourite brands in terms of products but especially when it comes to new releases.
They recently launched their pressed powder shadows and as I am a makeup addicted human being, I got my hands on all of them ASAP.

Each shade retails for 5$ (US), currently you will get a free empty magnetic palette that fits 4 shades, per 4 shades purchased. You also get free shipping on international orders 50$ (US) and over, so you can go all sorts of makeup crazy ;).

Right, you’re probably wondering wether I was dissapointed with the formula and regretted my purchase or wether the total opposite was the case.
If you’ve been a reader for a while now, you know that the later is correct.
Although they do have a lot of kick-off when dipping in your brush, they are pigmented, opaque, blendable and  they have a huge array of colours.

I would recommend them to you if you are looking to try some new fun colours and aren’t ready to spend loads of money on that. I would also suggest getting some if you are in love with makeup and enjoy getting great quality shadows once in a while.

All in all, get themè They’re amazing and I reach for them WAAAAAY too much!

I have organised mine into:

Matte shades…

Made to Last          Bel Air          Fire Fly          Locked and Loaded          Hear me out
I owe You          Running late          Note to Self          Paper Tiger          Wake up Call

Bouquet Toss          Outta Luck          Say I do          The News          Dreamboat

Cute Alert          Get out          Stay Golden          Going Steady          Making Moves
Popular Demand          Top Notch          Criss Cross          Flower Boy          Wait for it

Lost and Found           Take the Lead          Checkmate          Silver Lining
Piece of Cake          Team Captain          Cloud Nine          143

Shimmery shades…

Play by Play          Come and get it          Time out          Pep Talk          Liar, Liar
Just in Time       Save it for Later       You know the Drill       Take it Slow       Let me explain

Goody Two-Shoes          Backseat          Pinky Promise          Double Date           Pretty Cruel

As I told you in the beginning the palette will fit 4 shades if you use it as it comes BUT if you’d like to put in more than just 4 shades like me, I’ll let you in on my secret.

On the day my order arrived I was struck by a bolt of creative lightning. I thought to myself, I have so many shades and not enough room for them in my other magnetic palettes. As I didn’t have to pay anything for the palette that was sent due to the deal they’ve got going on, I decided to go forward with my destructive little plan.
It turned out to be a huge success and I have shared it on various different platforms so far. All my fellow makeup addicts really loved the idea and I realised that I hadn’t shared it with my lovely blog family yet. So, here you are, I hope you can apply it to the Colourpop palettes already in your possession, or the ones you will own in the future.

Talk to you soon!

Take care,

“Drugstore” haul

So without starting like I usually do when I’ve been gone for a while, let’s dig in.

I was roaming around the shops with a very good friend of mine and she suggested we go into our swiss version of a “drugstore”. I obviously didn’t want to let her down by saying no 😉 which ended in me saying yes and spending way too much money on makeup.

I’m not sure wether this brand is available that widely in other countries but over here you can get a hold of BronxColors at pretty much every slightly bigger “drugstore”. They have brought out some new products that I haven’t seen before, which obviously led me to swatch en try out all of them.

I immediately fell in love with their Urban Line beauty stamp & eyeliner, which is basically a felt-tip liner an a beauty stamp. I got the one with their logo which is also the female gender symbol. My friend was impressed by the swatch and also got her hands on one.

The next booth I’d actually never seen before was the one by Benecos, my friend asked me for some advice on a brow pencil and got me to get one myself.
I was very impressed by the colour and as I’ve already been using the Natural Eyebrow Designer, I must say I really like it.

Once I put that into my basket I turned around and was pleasantly surprised to see a WetnWild booth. Even more so when I saw that they carried the new photofocus foundation and I got two shades, Nude Ivory and Soft Beige, in hopes one of them would match me. Unfortunately none of the two fully match me but I can make them work.

Not long ago I got four shades of the coloricon glitter singles, I really enjoy them and I can’t seem to get my hands on cosmetic glitter here in Switzerland, so they’ll have to suffice for now. Because I really like them I also picked up the shade Binge, which is a deep purple and will look great paired with a bold smokey eye.

While I was at it, I thought why not get another one of their coloricon blushes, as they are my favourite blushes, so I got the shade Apri-Cot in the Middle.

Next door to WetnWild was the Essence booth and usually they carry the same products for a long period of time, at least here in Switzerland. So I didn’t bother looking too close, I did however check to see wether they carry a highlighter I’m looking for. They did not, BUT I discovered they now have single shadows and you can guess what happened then.
I got four shades, 05 cotton candy, 06 raspberry frosting, 07 mauvie-time! & 20 black is back and am amazed by the quality of them. So I think I might have to go back for more.

The highlighter hunting did go on though, Kathleen Fuentes aka Kathleenlights (my favourite influencer), talked about a highlighting shadow by Catrice Cosmetics. I was successful and got the shade 030 1001 Golden Nights and I LOVE IT. It is more on the blinding highlighter side but I don’t mind that at all.

The second to last thing I got was a perfume, which is a big deal for me as I never get  myself fragrances above the price tag of 40 CHF. There was 30% off and so I took the plunge and bought the Hugo Boss The Scent for her. Funnily enough I fell in love with that scent because my friend who went shopping with me that day, wore it on her wedding day and now I get to wear it, relive that day and enjoy the scent.

Last but ABSOLUTELY not least! L’Oréal launched these awesome masks and I already own one of them and use it frequently. So I got myself the one with red algae and am IN LOVE with it. It cleans out my pores in the best way possible and doesn’t dry out my skin at all! I would highly recommend it and will for sure repurchase it as soon as I run out.

All in all I would consider this little roam around the “drugstore” very successful and I really enjoyed the girly saturday with my friends <3!

Take care,

Warm smokey eye with a red lip

Hi fellow makeup lover!

I finally had the chance to do a step by step tutorial yesterday while being at home with a fever…

Makeup makes everything better, don’t you think so?

As you might have guessed, it’s Valentines Day, everyone and their grandma have been putting out makeup looks for the occasion, so here I am joining the party :)!

I chose to go with warm tones, are you surprised?!

I haven’t ever done a full look using only the Venus palette by Limecrime so I challenged myself to create a look with only that one palette. It’s come out quite decent if I may say so myself and I would definitely wear it for the occasion.

I started with a clean moisturised face. Spotty and all…

Next I applied my current favourite primer the Angel Veil by NYXcosmetics. It has a way of smoothing and blurring my skin that doesn’t make my pores feel clogged which is a big plus as I seem to be breaking out like crazy…

As I have a lot of redness and blemishes, my next step is colour correcting the hell out of my flaws. Using another drugstore item I love, the Mastercamo palette by Maybelline & Colourpops lippie stick in Upside Down which I desperatly need to stock up on as it’s gonna be taken our of the range.

Now let’s get into the foundation application. I’m utterly in love with the L’oreal Perfect Match at the moment, my shade is 1.5N Linen.

Let’s conceal those dark ass under eye circles! The tarte shapw tape is a gift from a higher power I tell ya! All the hype about this product is MORE THAN true. It covers everything and even sets itself so if you’re not into powder, this is the concealer for you!

I however NEED to powder, my other powdery products just don’t go on the way I want them to if I don’t. My fave powder is probably no secret to you, the RCMA No-Color powder.

As of lately I rediscovered the Benefit Hoola bronzer and I’m totally glad I did! So this is what I did next, I warmed up the perimeter of my face.

NikkieTutorials used to contour with this product for months and I wasn’t ever able to get my hands on it. Now that I own it I get her obsession with it, the NYXcosmetics HD blush in Taupe. The perfect cool shade for fair gals to chisel out their cheekbones.

Now for my most favourite part when doing my face makeup, the brows!

In my 2016 favourites I said I wanted to find a new brow pencil, well I did. The browsatin pencil by Maybelline is a dream come true, not only colour wise but also texture wise. I only use the pencil though, he powder doesn’t really do anything for me.

As I mentioned I’m using the Venus palette today so here’s me posing with it 😂…

I started by putting Divine in the crease and building that up to create my desired depth to the crease.

Next I put Creation in the outer V and built that up until I got the opacity I liked.

It still wasn’t sultry enough so I added some of  the darkest shade in the palette called Icon. By placing it in the outer V and the puter part of the crease I was able to achieve the sultry look I was going for.

As a result of that I took Creation yet again and applied it to the centre of the lid.

Last but not least I had to add some red, so I tooli Muse and packed that onto the innter part of the lid.

Now that I was left with a dark to warm gradient so I repeated that on my bottom lash line in a more subtle way.

I added Stomper by Colourpop in the outer part of my water line and Honeydude on the rest.

Now for some lash action. Covergirl – The Super Sizer & Urban Decay – Perversion

To finish off the look I needed some red lips. Cabernet by Jouer Cosmetics looked like rhe perfect red for this look.

All done!

I hope you enjoyed this step by step blogpost on my idea for a Valentines look.

Take care,

2016 beauty favourites

Hey 🙂

So, as I don’t have the guts to start a Youtube channel just now and therefore won’t be filming my favourites of 2016 I thought I’d share them on my blog with you.

Here it goes:

My favourite primer to minimize my pores is the BareMinerals Prime Time original. One pump of the product is all it takes and my pores are hardly visible anymore.

I like my primers you see, the Becca Backlight Priming Filter is my favourite to make my extremely dry skin look a little less dry. I use it like crazy and I never thought I would get even halfway through the bottle.

As I have the worst dark circles I need something to colour correct at least a little. I’m not a fan of regular colour correcting products, so I tried the Colourpop Lippie Stick in Upside Down and weirdly enough I love it. I’m not sure wether they’re supposed to be used on your face but haven’t experienced any bad effects on my skin just yet.

Tarte Shape Tape concealer, was BY FAR my favourite concealer this year, even though I only ever got it in early November. I haven’t been using anything else ever since. It’s extremely pigmented, a little goes a long way and the shade selection is great.
The hype is actually justified with this product.

I don’t really use foundation so I’ll leave that out.

Powder, well I don’t think it’ll be a surprise to you but it’s the RCMA No Color Powder.
If you watch some beauty influencers on youtube you’ll have heard of it before. It’s a loose powder in the WORST packaging ever.
I love it to bake my under eyes and set my face, to make sure all my other powdery products sit nicely on top of my skin and don’t skip.

Highlighter… Very hard… I guess I’ll have to go with OFRA Cosmetics Beverly Hills highlighter wheel. My favourite colour in there is the champagne one, but it caters to all skin tones, another reason why I love it.

It’s the one on the right in the picture.

No doubt about my favourite blush, the WetnWild Color Icon Blush in Rosé Champagne. It’s a very subtle blush but that’s exactly what I love about it!

My favourite contour palette is also by WetnWild and I can’t imagine life without it. The MegaGlo Dulce de Leche duo which is perfect for my fair skin, not only the highlighting shade but especially the contour shade.

Let’s talk about my favourite setting spray, I purchased it because I wanted to dabble into setting sprays and didn’t want to go all the way by buying the All Nighter by Urban Decay from the get go.
So I went for the NYX Dewy Finish setting spray, although it doesn’t lock my makeup in for the whole day it does for the most important part of it. It’s fairly cheap and doesn’t irritate my skin.

I also like to prime my lids. The primer that does the best job so far is the Photo Focus Eyeshadow Primer. It’s translucent once it’s been applied and keeps your blended shadows looking perfect throughout the day for a small amount of money.

There is no better liners than the  Colourpop Créme Gel Pencils, at least in my opinion. There’s a huge selection of colours and they stay where you put them, on top of that they are extremely affordable.

If it comes to single shadows I couldn’t name only one so I’m gonna go with my favourite single shadow formula which is, yes you’ve guessed it, Makeup Geek. They have a HUGE selection of shades, their mattes are fenomenal, they have beautiful duochrome shadows and all in all are perfect for the price.

My most used and therefore favourite palette would have to be my neutral XL Z-palette that I put together myself. It’s filled with a tonne of neutral shades mostly Makeup Geek ones so I guess that doesn’t really count as a palette.
My favourite pre made palette is probably the KylieCosmetics Bronze Palette.

My holy grail mascara vise is the Benefit Roller Lash. I just can’t seem to get away from it. I fell in love with it in May 2015 at the London City airport and haven’t been able to part with it ever since.
The drugstore dupe of that would have to be the Covergirl Super Sizer mascara which I do also like quite a lot and use when I’m running low on my precious baby.

I’m gonna include my brow products into this category as well. For about a year now I’ve been stuck in a pleasant brow rut. I keep using the Brow Artist Designer in Deep Brown to fill them in and in conjunction with that the Brown Artist Plumper in Medium Dark to set them in place. Those two products just seem to form the perfect duo for me and I don’t think I’ll be to branch out for another few months.

To prep my lips I like to use the LUSH Bubblegum lip scrub, it not only makes my lips extremely smooth but tastes really good. Although it doesn’t strip your lips from all moisture I need to top my lips off with some form of lip balm. My favourite in that category would have to be Lip Service which is also one of my beloved LUSH products. I’ve turned plenty of people onto that lip balm, it’s just AMAZING.

My favourite lip liners have got to be the KylieCosmetics ones. I’ve never been a lip liner gal, but hers have turned me over and I’m in love with the effect and precision they give.

Lip sticks… Well to me they’re pretty much dead, as they’ve totally been replaced by liquid lipsticks, they’re so much less of a hassel and easy to throw on. Probably why I posted about them for most of last year.

My favourite liquid lipsticks are listed in a blogpost called: My liquid lipstick collection: Top 5, if you’re interested you can click the link and it’ll take you there :).

I won’t list any other lip products as the ones listed above are everything I wore last year and if I didn’t, I went bare lipped.

I think that’s all of the makeup I obsessed about in 2016 and will be obsessing about some more in 2017.

I’d love you to share some of your favourites in the comments so I can check them out. Not only am I very curious what kind of products you like BUT I need to branch out and dive into some new products.

Take care,

The Holiday Collection – Review

Hi and welcome to my first blogpost in 2017!

I’m hoping you had a lovely New Year’s Eve and celebrated the start of a new year, that bears tons of opportunities, accordingly.
Whatever you did I hope you enjoyed it. I stayed with my boyfriend and his family and had a relaxed start to the year.

Let’s crack on shall we. First up I wanted to bring you my review of the Holiday Collection by KylieCosmetics as long as it is still available, at least some of it.

I already talked about the Vixen Lip Kit in my last post and am not impressed with it…
I must have gotten a dud, as I’ve not head anybody else be as disapointed in it as I am.
It just doesn’t apply like her other Lip Kits do, it’s patchy and doesn’t dry down. I’m really gutted as I love the colour of it.

The Merry Lip Kit however is perfect in it’s consistency and wears beautifully. If you have the Mary Jo K Lip Kit though, you do not need it, their basically identical, Merry is just a tad warmer.

Then there are the two other shades in the Full-Size 4pc Holiday Kit which are Angel and Blitzen. The kit is no longer available and if you own the Spice Lip Kit you’re probably not missing out, because it is identical to Blitzen.
Angel is a mauvey pink which there are a million of out there, you’ll find another one, probably even better in application as well.
The glosses are nothing special and easy to find within other brands.
So, overall I don’t think you’ve missed out on something if you haven’t got this 4pc collection.

There are also two single glosses, the first on is Naughty which you can only get inside the Holiday Box now, alongside a bunch of other products and the second limited edition gloss in Jolly.
Both of the glosses are unique in my collection as I don’t own many glosses in general. I do enjoy both of them quite a bit and I didn’t think I would. Especially Jolly, it’s such a gorgeous deep berry shade and looks great on top of Vixen or on it’s own.
Both of the glosses are quite pigmented and because of that very easy to wear by themselves.

Dancer, the limited edition metallic liquid lip. Lovely colour but not for me. If it wasn’t metallic that would be a different story. I can’t tell you too much on the longevity of it either as I’ve worn it for 2 hours tops.
Again I don’t think you missed out, there are plenty of brands that make great metallic lipsticks and have a wider more wearable shade selection. FYI Dancer is sold out…

The Mini Kit, very cute and I still haven’t touched it. As I said in my ‘haul’ post, I will be using the full size lip kits first and then I’m gonna crack open the minis.

Let’s move onto eyes.

The Kyliner in Snow, what a disappointment. I used it for my first and only IG collaboration so far and it took ages to build up the coverage. The pencil is fine but the gel is horrible. It cracked after half an hour of wear time and looked horrid. Luckily it’s out of stock because it’s a waste of money in my opinion. I haven’t touched it since but I don’t think I had to mention that after I just said what I think of it…

Onto more positive things, the Holiday Palette. It’s still in stock and I suggest you grab it if you like jewel toned shadows that look gorgeous, especially the metallic ones. I have done a step by step tutorial on here using the silver shadow in the shade Frosty. When it comes down to the blendability, the dark shades aren’t as blendable as the shadows in the other two palettes but they’re lovely.
A great seasonal palette.

The Crème Shadows, which btw are still in stock, are great.
I’ve used the shade Yellow Gold in conjuction with the Kyliner in Snow and it did a beautiful job of attracting the attention and pulling it away from the liner (lol). Camo is the only one I haven’t properly used just yet, Golden Plum however was the center piece of my Christmas look and did a lovely job of staying put throughout all the laughter and smiles at the family dinner table.

Last but not least the makeup bag.
Love it, it’s perfect in size and the second side pocket is just what it needed to be a go to.

I’m not sure how long she’s gonna be selling the remaining products. So I suggest, if there are items that you would really like to call a part of your collection, you should head over there ASAP and get your lovely hands on them.

With all of that said, take care,

Purple lips and a silver halo eye

Here it is, I did it.
Using the KylieCosmetics Holiday Collection for this look which was inspired by the fireworks on New Years Eve.

I started off by moisturizing with Celestial by LUSH all over the face and the Enchanted Eye Cream on the under eyes and lids. While that was sinking in I went on a little ‘shopping’ trip through my makeup collection and got all my products lined up.

To make my pores appear smaller I used the bareMinerals original Prime Time primer and on top of that I used the Becca Backlight Priming Filter to get some dew going underneath my base.

As a base I used my current fave, the shape tape concealer(s) by Tarte in the shades light-medium, light sand and light neutral. I blended all of that in using the ever so trusty beautyblender. To make sure the coverage doesn’t go anywhere I set the whole face using the RCMA no-color powder and used that to bake the under eye area.

Time for some brows. I really like this part of my routine, there’s just something about it that frames the face and makes you look put together, instantly. As always I used the Brow Artist Designer in deep brown by L’Oréal to fill them in and a clean spoolie by Morphe to blend it in.

Next up I contoured using the WetnWild contouring palette in Dulce de Leche, the contour shade is perfect for all us pale girls out there and on top of that the lighter shade is great to sharpen up the contour.

Once that was done I used my fave blush which is also by WetnWild in the colour Rosé Champagner, even though it is extremely subtle I love exactly that!

The last step for my base was the GLOW. I used the shade Strobe from the tarteist PRO GLOW palette that arrived yesterday :). Although it is very pretty it was slightly too warm and so I used the white shade from the OFRA Beverly Hills highlighter which made it perfect.

Let’s start on the eyes with the Holiday Palette 2016 by KylieCosmetics.
The first shade I used was Chestnut to slightly define my crease.

Second shade I used was one of my faves from the palette which is Sugar Cookie. This helped to shade in the crease even more.

Next up was Gingerbread, the deep purple. I used it on the inner and outer corner to deepen them and create a halo eye. I added some Mittens on top on the inner corner to make it a little shimmery to compliment the next colour.

Which is, Frosty the main part of the eye look, I put it in the center of the lid and made it as intense as it can be by patting it on, not only with a shader brush but also with my finger.

To finish it all off I added some more of Gingerbread in the inner and outer corner, put some Kicker gel liner by Colourpop on the tight line.

For the lower lash line I took some Gingerbread and blended that into the outer part of it and smoked it out with Mittens some more.
Towards the inner corner I used some Kicker gel liner yet again and put some of Frosty on top, I also used the liner in the inner part of the waterline. in the outer half I used the No Shame gel liner by Colourpop. These liners are exceptional, once you put them on they won’t go anywhere and stay true to colour until you take off your makeup.

I added some beloved Roller Lash mascara by Benefit and finished off by highlighting the tear duct with the same OFRA highlighter.

Last but not least I went in with the Vixen lip liner and liquid matte lipstick.

Just a little review of the products I used:

The Holiday Palette has a very unique colour selection and I think it fits perfectly into the Christmas season.
However, I don’t see myself getting much use out of it throughout the year. I also don’t think it can compete with her two other palettes when it comes down to the blendability of the shadows.

The Vixen LipKit is absolutely not the usual Kylie quality. I love her liquid lipsticks, you would know if you read my liquid lipstick collection/top 5 liquid lipsticks.
Vixen however is patchy and doesn’t dry down properly. I might just have gotten a bad batch but the lip liner also isn’t what I’m used to from KylieCosmetics.
I love the colour though, even though it is extremely dark it still looks purple and I don’t own anything like it.

I applied all the shadows with the unique wand brushes by Storybook Cosmetics.A makeup brand owned by tripplets with a passion for all things beauty and story related.
I uploaded some pictures of the wand brushes on my Instagram and am absolutely in love with the look of them.
Will let you know what I think of their performance once I’ve used them so more but so far I like them (a lot) ;).

It’s been really fun to create this look for you as I have treated myself to a new camera, the Sony a5100, which makes it 1’000’000 times easier to take great pictures and transfer them onto my phone/laptop.
I might post a review on it once I’ve gotten more use out of it and know how to handle it a little better.

Just in case this is my last post this year, I would like to wish you a very happy new year. May 2017 be the best year yet and not resemble 2016 in the slightest!

Take care,

Huge KylieCosmetics haul

Hi guys!

As promised here it is, the KylieCosmetics haul / early what I got for Christmas.
The Holiday Collection Bundle, which is the whole collection, is the Christmas present that my mum got me this year :D.
The other products thrown in there, have been purchased by me.

I’ll start with all the products for the eyes. First up is the the Kylie Brush Set which isn’t included in the whole Collection. I haven’t played around with them yet as I should wash them first. You might be able to relate… I HATE washing my brushes and it’s well overdue.
The brushes in this set are synthetic, I’m assuming that makes them fully vegan but I’m not certain about that.
The set contains 5 brushes:
– a smudger brush
– a small and a big blending brush
– a pencil brush
– a shader brush
Only part that has me concerned about them so far is, that they have a very strong chemical smell to them, I’m hoping that it’ll subside once I’ve given them a thorough cleanse. I’ll update you on them in my review of this collection.

The Holiday Palette contains 9 shadows just like her other two eyeshadow palettes, only this time around it comes with a built in mirror!

I wish she would’ve done that earlier as my favourite palette by her is the Burgundy Palette. Either way it’s great she’s started doing it now and I hope to see her include mirrors in all her future palettes. She said she was inspired by jewel tones and that’s exactly what the colours remind me of. Even though I thought I might not like the colours as much, I was pleasantly surprised. I expected the colours to be really intensely coloured, they are pigmented but the colours are more toned down which makes them really wearable in my opinion.
My favourites are Nutcracker, which is a brown toned burgundy, Evergreen, a lovely muted green and Sugar Cookie which makes the perfect cool toned transition shade.
I’m excited to see how they perform on the lid!

Next is the Kyliner in the shade Snow. I was so excited to get this as I really want to do a warm toned smokey eye with a white winged liner for contrast. I might even put that up on here! The look of white liner intrigues me, it looks so bold but not to the extent of a very thick black wing. To say the least, I’m very excited to give it a go!

There are also three new crème shadows in this collection.
Lots of people have been loving the ones from the Birthday Collection and I really adore the colours she released so far!

First up is Camo which is a very dark forest green, with brown undertones and lots of shimmer.

Golden Plum is probably my favourite of the bunch! Again it’s a rather dark colour but to me that fits the season perfectly. A deep plum with gold shimmer throughout, exactly as the name suggests. I find it works perfectly on top of a matte burgundy/plum shadow in the outer corner. The perfect sultry plum smokey eye.

Last  but not least for the crème shadows is Yellow Gold, you might want to look at the swatch yourself as the colour is really hard to describe ;).

Let’s talk lip products!
Her lip products are some of my favourites, the lip liners are my favourite out there because they’re so creamy and easy to handle. Her matte liquid lipsticks made it into my top 5 favourite liquid lipsticks in general which I guess says more than enough.

Included in the Holiday Collection Bundle are two new gloss shades. Jolly is my personal favourite out of the two. It’s not at all a sheer gloss and you wouldn’t necessarily have to pair it with a lipstick because of that. The shade is a deep burgundy and it hits my soft spot in the burgundy department, I luuuuurve it.

Then there’s Naughty and it is your classic blue toned red, perfect for the season, you might even put Santa and his suit to shame. Just like Jolly it is anything but sheer and will look great even without a lipstick underneath.

She also created two new Lip Kits.
Vixen which seems to be the matte liquid lipstick form of Jolly by the look of it, it’s also described as a blackened plum, where as Jolly is described as a blackened burgundy.
Either way Vixen is probably my favourite lip shade in this collection.
The second new Lip Kit is Merry. It looks a lot like Mary Jo K to me. Merry, however is described as a deepened rich red and Mary Jo K is more of a true blue red. Here their swatched next to each other.

Another product I probably wouldn’t purchase individually is Dancer. It’s the metallic shade in this collection. I just don’t seem to get into the metallic lips hype, does anyone feel the same?
The colour is gorgeous, if only it was matte…
BUT, if you are into the metallic lips trend and you love burgundy shades, I think you’d like it loads, here’s to hoping it’ll be a permanent shade.
I unfortunately cannot compare it to the already existing shade Reign because I don’t own it.

Inside the Full-Size 4pc Holiday Kit are two additional glosses which you can’t get separate… yet.
Cupid which is a coppery/rose gold and tickles my fancy way more than Noel which is supposed to be a true copper, although it looks more like a yellow gold to me.
I’ll swatch it next to her Birthday Collection gloss Poppin’ because it reminds me of that shade a lot. These two glosses aren’t anything like Jolly/Naughty in coverage, they’re more like topping glosses to add shine and shimmer.

Also included are two new matte liquid lipstick shades called Angel, a mauvey pink which you will see a swatch of and Blitzen which apparently is a warmer version of Spice, I’ll swatch it for ya ;).
Angel isn’t really my kind of shade as it’s just too pink but I can see myself wearing Blitzen as a bold lip.

Seeing as this 4pc Kit is currently sold out, I thought I’d let you know that it’s my least favourite part of the whole Holiday Collection. The colours of the matte liquid lipsticks aren’t really to die for, especially as one of them is just slightly different than Spice which you’re able to get your hands on because it currently is in stock. Also, the glosses aren’t really THAT unique in shade and I bet you’d find plenty of others out there.

On the topic of Kits, she obviously brought back the Mini Kit. I have also got the Birthday Collection Mini Kit and I haven’t touched any of them yet, they’re just too cute and I can’t bear to use them.
The Holiday Collection Mini Kit features the shades:
Moon which is a taupe nude
Ginger which in my opinion id the perfect terra cotta shade for my skintone
Kristen a warm strawberry shade
Love Bite a plum shade with a brown undertone
Vixen one of the new shades, a blackened plum
Angel which is the mauvey pink inside the 4pc Kit
I think it’s a genius idea to release the Mini Kit yet again because I think that was the one item everybody wanted when she launched her Birthday Collection.
On top of that it’s incredibly handy as the shades come in tiny very handy packaging that are easy to just take with you on the go.
I always carry a big handbag so I don’t really mind taking the full size along and I can’t bring myself to using them as long as I still have product inside the full size tubes.

The last item of the bunch isn’t makeup, it’s her Holiday Collection makeup bag.
It’s reflective silver on the outside with her logo on one side. I’m not that into the silver but she improved the inside of it. I also have the first one she released and I really enjoy using it as it’s huge and fits my whole face :D. The only downside is the fact that it only has one pocket on the inside. The new one however does now have two pockets and I can see myself using it loads, just because of that!

Now that we talked thourgh all the products included in the Holiday Collection I’m gonna jump into it and create looks with the products.
My favourite products right of the bat probably are the two new matte liquid lip shades and the Jolly gloss. I’m hoping they perform just as good as the other products and I will let you know about that in my review of this collection.

Take care,

My liquid lipstick collection: Top 5

Greetings, welcome to my last liquid lipstick collection post… for now.

I have been blogging you through 16 different brands of liquid lipstick, their formulas, staying power, prices, where to find them and how to get your hands on them.

Surely I said lots of good things about all the liquid lipsticks I own.
I meant everything I said but there obviously are formulas I liked better than others. That’s why I’m finishing my series… for now, with a rundown of my top 5 favourite formulas/brands of liquid lipstick.

17$ each     sold online     wide range of colours

Their Matte Lip Paints did not only make it into my top 5 but they are truly worth a closer look.
They not ship worldwide because of strict customs regulations but they cover a large part. For some people they might be hard to get their hands on but their working on that and are now on BeautyBay which makes it much easier for some of us.
Apart from the dud with their packaging varying from tube to tube there’s hardly anything bad to say about them.
They dry VERY MATTE, are decently sized for the price, have a good applicator and cater to ever skin tone out there! You can find anything from everyday nude to Rainbows and Unicorns.

6$ each     sold online     modern, on trend & budgetfriendly

A very controversial formulation of liquid lipsticks. Some love them others HATE them.
I love their Ultra Matte Lip formula, they dry crazy matte which is exactly what I expect, even if I have to sacrifice my lips for it.
I can see why some people do not appreciate them AT ALL, it takes quite some moisturizing and pampering after a day of wearing them.
Since Colourpop started shipping internationally I did not only go ham on their lippies but on their products in general. I find their pricing to be unbeatable in the beauty industry, at least for the moment.
Their creativity and constant rhythm of releases has me excited and they seem to hit the trend EVERY single time.

Kat von D

20$ each     sold online & in stores     gothic goodness

I love the creator, the art, the product and the whole philosophy behind the brand!
Even though it was MORE than a pain in the backside to get a hold of the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks it was SO worth it.
The formula, again, isn’t everyones cup of tea. A lot of people find it to be too drying and hard to work with. I on the other hand love it, it works great with my lips and I do not EVER have to reapply throughout the day.
I’d own the whole collection if I only could.
The packaging and the art she creates for the brand is mesmerizing and I find it to be second to none.

29$ per LipKit/ 17$ for singles     hyped     collectors item

Some of you might be weirded out by this but I find myself popping on her colours more often than not.
There’s something about the formula that makes it that slight bit better than the mother laboratory that makes the Colourpop items.
The staying power is very comparable to the Kat von D ones, the reason why I prefer the Kylie ones to hers is the fact that I can get them A LOT easier and that she carries tons of nudes.
I don’t collect them because I’m a fan of Kylie Jenner but because the brand caters to my makeup junkie needs.
They came very close second.

20$ each     perfect colour selection     BEST wear time and comfort

Out of the 16 brands I’ve tried and am lucky to call mine, Limecrimes Velvetines are hands down the best!
I’m aware of the controversy and the things that have happened with the brand in the past. If you’ve not read my post on them, you should go an have a look and read my disclaimer.
They are on the pricey side of the spectrum and don’t hold a crazy amount of product but the quality is just amazing. They are opaque (apart from my RedVelvet), you hardly need any product, the tube is a handy travel size and the packaging is indeed very cute.
I keep telling myself I have all the colours I need but let’s face it I’ll keep buying them ;).

Those are my top 5 up untill now, let me know yours, you know yours truly isn’t shy of adding to her collection ;)!

As promised I will post a haul followed by a review of the KylieCosmetics Holiday Collection on here next. I just got the parcel in today and can’t wait to “haul” it and dig in to get my thoughts up on my blog.

After those two posts, I’m gonna be doing some makeup related step by step picture tutorials and then hopefully rather sooner than later get my arse in front of a lens to record one.

Take care,

My liquid lipstick collection: Jouer

Greetings fellow lipstick junkies 🙂

Todays treats goe by the name of Long-Wear Lip Crèmes by Jouer Cosmetics.

I decided to order some as they are now on Beautylish, one of my favourite websites to order beauty goodies on. Their delivery time is INCREDIBLE! They’re a US website and I get my orders in less than 4 days, which just blows my mind!

I got four colours, pretty basic ones to be honest but anyone who likes nudes and reds will understand 😉 .
That being said, yes I got two of each, two reds one deeper one lighter, two nudes same story with those.

I quickly want to talk packaging…. They do look quite small on social media and some people have mentioned they’re small. BUT I never expected them to be T.I.N.Y.! So if you’re expecting them to be the same size like other liquid lips, don’t. Each one costs you 18$ and you will get some bang for your buck, even though they look tiny but they actually hold more product than most liquid lipsticks.
As a little comparison:

The KylieCosmetics hold 3.25g per bottle for 29$ (Lipkit).
The Dose of Colors hold 4.5g each for 18$.
The Jeffree Star hold 5.6g in total for 18$.
The Jouer Cosmetics hold 6g per tube for 18$.
So the Jouer Lip Crème holds the most amount of product even though the tube is TINY and costs just as much as most brands do!

That just shows size doesn’t matter 😉 .

Now that we’ve got that covered I’ll show you the Jouer colours I chose.

First up the nudes.
Noisette which actually means nut in english and I guess you could kind of compare the colour to a nut. It’s a nude with a brown undertone which will suit you very well if you, like me, have naturally quite pigmented lips. It’ll go with any out there eye look that you won’t want your lips to fall out of the picture with.
The second nude is called Terra. It’s Noisettes little sister with a pink undertone and will make the run to your perfect everyday nude.

Les rouges – the reds.
If you’re looking for a deep blue toned red, look no further, Cabernet is the one. It’ll be vampy enough for a  night out and subtle enough for a dinner with your parents in law.
Brique is THE rusty red dream come true. It’s not too rusty where it pulls orange and not too red where it pulls too bold. It sits right in between which makes it extremely wearable.

In case you’ve heard of the brand before this blogpost, which you MUST HAVE DONE if your peruse the socials, then you will have heard people loving the formula.
I never thought there would be a liquid lipstick that fully dries matte and feels like you have nothing on your lips. Well I was wrong.

I might have said loads of good things about all the liquid lipsticks I own but that’s because I prefer to see the good in a product rather than what I don’t like. Also I find I can work around the duds in any liquid lipstick by preparing accurately.

The Jouer formula is very thin once it’s dry and is totally matte, the most comfy matte I’ve worn so far.
I can’t say too much about the wear time though as I’ve only had them for two days and haven’t been wearing them for more than a few hours at a time. They hold up really well while eating though so I can imagine that they stand a very good chance when being worn the whole day.

The biggest issue I have with the brand is that all of a sudden all the beautygurus talk about it and they get flown out to Paris etc. It makes me feel like they’re literally just doing it for the moolah.
The other thing that kind of puts me off is the colour selection, the colours I got are the only ones that tickled my fancy. This is really good for my bank account but rather sad for my collector heart. That however is a very personal thing and everybody likes different things so, if you enjoy the colour selection have this little rundown of the positive aspects on the Long-Wear Lip Crèmes.

1 – Lots of product for the same amount of price like most brands.
2 – Tiny tube, very handy to take everywhere.
3 – Dries comfortably matte and opaque.
4 – Coupon codes when you shop on
NIKKIE – 15%
5 – Easier to get since they are on Beautylish now.

So I guess you can make up your own mind wether you wanna get onto the bandwagon full force, just dabble in a little or ignore the “trend”.

Take care,

My liquid lipstick collection: Kat von D

Hello and welcome to my Kat von D

I “only” own three Kat von D shades, the thing is, it’s a pain in the arse to get a hold of them in Switzerland. The ones I do have are probably the three most popular shades and I can see why, they’re gorgeous.
I got mine from the US Sephora page. Anyone who’s ever ordered from a website that doesn’t ship to their country knows how many obstacles you have to overcome to get your hands on it. My package was shipped to Germany and picked it up right across the border. This made it twice as expensive and made me worry wether it was gonna arrive in good condition even more than usual.

My favourite shade out of the three is BY FAR, Bow N Arrow. It’s the perfect grungey shade with the right amount of beige in it. It’s been my everyday nude for quite a while now. The only thing that stopped me from using it so much was the fact that I can’t replace it that easily.

Next up is Lolita the infamous Lolita that was sold out for at least a century :D. I can absolutley see why everybody loves it, it’s the perfect rosy chestnut colour and fits into this time of year just perfectly.

Last but definitely not least is Lolita II the little sister of the original Lolita. I don’t think they look anything alike but Lolita II is just as pretty. Although it’s more of a terra cotta nude rather than a rosy one. It goes very well with a coppery eye, any kind of warm eyeshadow look actually.

Now if you’ve heard anything of the Everlasting liquid lipsticks so far you might have heard the mixed opinions on the formula. I have to agree, it’s rather drying and lots of people don’t like it because of that. I LOVE them exactly because of that.

I really like liquid lipsticks that stay on no matter the weather, situation or meal.

The packaging is probably the most beautiful and sleek out there. To me the only downside is the length of the wand, it sometimes makes me feel like I don’t have as much precision as I’d like to have. The tube itself however is really handy to travel with as it’s really slim.

All in all, I’m SO BUMMED that I can’t get my hands on them easily.

I think their worth the hype, price and sometimes even the effort to get a hold of.

Take care,
